Our Educational Philosophy:
Kid Castle believes in and implements a collaborative, student-centered, learning philosophy; where the students play the primary role within their educational journey. Student-centered learning addresses the social, physical, emotional and cultural needs of each student in addition to their academic welfare. This is achieved by providing student choice, fostering creativity, developing independence and problem-solving abilities and creating differentiated instruction based on individual student needs. Our program incorporates guidelines on student learning styles, teaching methodologies and assessment strategies.
Our Curriculum and Textbooks:
Kid Castle follows the K-6 American curriculum framework aligned with the Common Core standards. The Common Core is a set of high-quality academic standards in mathematics and English language arts/literacy (ELA). These learning goals outline what a student should know and be able to do at the end of each grade.
Textbooks and Programs:
Longman Cornerstone is a multi-level, intensive English Language learning program specially designed to help students master English Language Arts. Through explicit, intensive, and focused instruction that accelerates students’ language acquisition, reading comprehension, vocabulary, and oral and written communication skills, students will quickly begin achieving greater academic success in their coursework across the curriculum integrating social studies, science, art and music into the texts and assignments. Longman Cornerstone blends rigorous, research-based reading and language skills instruction together with a balance of content-area readings and age-appropriate, high-interest literature.
Reading A-Z program now has more than 170,000 members and has won a number of educational awards for its innovation in reading instruction. Among the awards are a Parents’ Choice Recommended Award, a Global Learning Initiative Award, and a Teachers’ Choice Award. Because it is delivered over the Internet, Reading A-Z is a constantly changing program. Each month, Reading A-Z adds new books, lesson plans, and other resources, thus continually expanding its wealth of materials. The website has more than 2,500 downloadable books and thousands of teaching and learning materials. In addition to the K-6 market, Reading A-Z materials have found widespread use at a range of grade levels in special education and special needs, remedial reading, ESL, and ELL.
enVisionmath2.0 is a comprehensive K-8 mathematics curriculum with superior focus, coherence, and rigor.
