It was Kid Castles very first Talent Show and what a success🎤🎸 I am not going to lie, my eyes swelled up a few times watching these amazing students showcase their talent.
There was beautiful piano solos, amazing vocal performances, group vocals, hip hop and belly dancers, a martial arts performance and we even watched our very own comedians take the stage.
We also had the pleasure of two of our very talented teachers Ms. Mariska and Ms. Cara entertain us with a beautiful duet.
The kids had a blast and I am already excited for the next show.
We are happy to announce the winners of the 2018 Kid Castle Talent Show.
Alice (Grade 4)- Piano Solo.
Dasha (Grade 1)- Belly Dance Sensation
Milana (Grade 4) – Vocal Solo.
These girls will now perform at the Sheraton Hotel on May 25th.
There are hundreds of problems and issues plaguing our environments like climate change, global warming and harmful pollution. It can seem overwhelming, but even one small step can make a difference.
This month Kid Castle teachers are putting together a wide variety of projects and activities to help educate the students on how we can make a difference in saving our planet. We feel as educators this is a very important issue and our goal is to educate all the students on the following:
* How to slow down climate change
* How to save the Earth’s Natural resources
* How to stop using so much plastic (alternatives)
* How to Reduce/Reuse and Recycle
* How to respect our planet!
We are looking forward to this exciting and educational month!
Just a friendly reminder the school closures this month:
Wednesday, April 25th/ Monday, April 30th and Tuesday, May 1st.
HAPPY 🌍🌎🌏 DAY!!
What an incredibly successful event! Our grade 3/4/5 students spent the last 3 weeks researching , scripting, event planning and rehearsing! 6 MAJOR environmental issues …vocab, facts, problem, solutions..as well as making and asking for pledges from fellow students and parents. I could not be more proud!! A tremendous amount of maturity, patience , teamwork, and dedication went into this day. NOW…make these kids proud and GO DO YOUR PART 🌍
What an exciting week! Science Day was a hit! From students predicting and observing the colorful reactions of mixing a variety of liquids with Ms. Cara to chemical reactions that created carbon dioxide with Mr. Ryan to making fizzy lemonade with Ms. M, with all this excitement the primary students are ready for the next Science Day Even the preschool and Kindergarten classes got involved in this funfilled day! Thanks to all the teachers for the effort making this day a success.

THE SPELLING BEE
On Friday, February 9th Kid Castle had their First Annual Spelling Bee. It was a huge success and all the students cheered on their classmates till the bitter end. We started with a Class Preliminary Round and from that round we found the top 3 spellers from each class. These 3 students went head to head on Fridays competition. The winner of their class went on to the Finals. The Final students included: Tini (Grade 1), Cathy (Grade 2), Geetika (Grade 3) and Lucian (Grade 4). Each student had to spell words that were on par with their grade level. It came down to Lucian and Tini and in the end, Lucian Ly took home the Grand Prize. What a great experience and we are already looking forward to the next Spelling Bee.
ANTI-BULLYING IN ACTION STUDENT AND TEACHER WORKSHOPS
Wednesday, Jan. 31 st and Thursday, Feb. 1 st (2:30 – 3:30)
Location: Kid Castle International School
Participants: Kindergarten – Grade 5
Students learn most effectively through guided instruction and peer
collaboration. Offering children opportunities to discuss and practice
compassion, self-reflection, and social awareness can aid them in building
positive, healthy relationships with their classmates and school community.
These workshops will help to defuse bullying both in and out of Kid Castle.
During our workshop students were able to learn about conflict management
and now Kid Castle has its very own conflict managers
It was our great please to be able to work with Ms. Eileen Brown and the Tu Bong Orphanage. With the support of our parents and students and guests of our community. We were able to raise over 10.000.0000 VND for the orphanage at our 2017 Halloween Fundraiser. A big thanks to all the sponsors: Pure Vietnam, Sheraton Hotel, Living Collective, California Fitness and Sasha Fishler Art School. Also a big thank to all Kid Castle staff for making this event happen. It was fantastic afternoon filled with great games, good food and amazing costumes.
Thanks to all who took part in our event.
RUN TO GIVE 2017
This year our parents and students and staff took part in a Community Charity Run/Event for “Operation Smile”. This charity raises funds for children who were born with a Cleft Palate (a split in the roof of their mouth). We were so happy to be a part of raising over $10,000 for the children. It means so much to us as a school to be able to encourage empathy. Encouraging a sense of empathy in children at a young age helps them develop lifelong skills that will serve to help them understand other cultures and respond positively to them. Thanks again for all who came out and supported this amazing cause.
